Copy editing

Let me help polish your writing to a brilliant shine!

My proofreading experience goes all the way back to when I was Head Editor of my high school's literary magazine. A few years after that, I interned at Parkstone International, Paris, where I edited the manuscripts of some of their lovely art books.

In my subsequent years as a freelance copy editor and proofreader, I've  helped people from various backgrounds and professions give a glow to documents like cover letters, communiqués, articles, screenplays, and fiction and non-fiction manuscripts.

I know how hard the writing process is, and I want your work to be its best.  That's why I was honored to receive this high praise from author Sally Allen, in the Acknowledgements of her book Unlocking Worlds: A Reading Companion for Book Lovers:

This book would not be what it is without my supremely talented friend and editor Alysa Salzberg, who understood this project from the start. Alysa is like the best kind of personal trainer: You don't realize how hard she's pushing you because you're having so much fun in the process.

In addition to proofreading and copy editing, I also offer fact-checking services.

I recently got to help author Russell Cowdrey with his historical fiction and fantasy novel Louisa Sophia and a Legion of Sisters by checking the parts that take place in 1870's France for historical accuracy.

Here's what Russell wrote in his Acknowledgements:

Without the contributions of my fellow American historical author Alysa Salzberg, this book would be filled with too many French historical faux pas to count. Thankyou so much."
